a certain hat for a certain queen

....i seem to be in a knitting lull....finishing up, surfing for what to cast-on, knitting smaller projects to have something to knit while i surf my patterns and books....in that vein here is my Minty hat:

Ice Blue Minty

 ....this hat was a quick knit....easy to do....the crown pattern and decreasing follow a chart....in the set up round you place markers and follow the chart between the markers....easy to do and interesting results....i really like....for the tie you just knit an i-cord....the pattern is free....it has two suggestions for completing the hat....the striped version uses wool and the plain version uses cotton....i used Lily Sugar 'n Cream cotton and knitted the striped version....i carried the yarns up on the inside being careful not to pull them too tightly and always looping the bottom yarn over the top one on the color change round....
....i did Magic Loop for the body of the hat....then switched to dpn's for the crown decreases....i'll definitely knit more of these....
....the first knitting project for my monkey queen....off it goes across the pond....
....doesn't everyone have a monkey queen?....☺
